The Hochries (1,569 m) is Rosenheim's local mountain. It offers breathtaking views across Rosenheim's surroundings, the Inn river, the area around Lake Chiemsee and the Central Alps. Take the chairlift to the middle station and continue up to the peak by cable car.
Wendelstein mountain (1,838) offers one of Germany's most beautiful views. In 25 minutes, the rack railway takes you from the bottom station in Brannenburg to the top of the mountain. The cable car starting in the nearby Bayrischzell only needs 7 minutes to take you to the top. At Wendelstein GEO-Park, you will be able to explore 250 million years of geology.
